When and where is Finnova Hacks 2026?
Finnova Hacks 2026 will take place on the weekend of April 17-18, 2026. The event is a 48-hour hackathon. Location details will be announced soon!
Who can participate?
Finnova Hacks is open to students, early professionals, and anyone passionate about fintech innovation and building solutions to real-world financial challenges. All skill levels are welcome!
Do I need a team?
No! You can apply solo or with a team. If you don't have a team, we'll help with team formation at the event. Teams can have up to 4 members.
Is there a participation fee?
Participation is completely free! We'll provide meals, snacks, and swag throughout the event. Travel and accommodation costs are the responsibility of participants.
When do applications close?
Applications are currently open and will close in early April 2026. We recommend applying early as spots are limited! Check back for the exact deadline.
What should I bring?
Bring your laptop, chargers, and any hardware you might need for your project. Don't forget a valid ID, comfortable clothes, and toiletries if you plan to stay overnight.
What can I build?
Anything related to fintech! This includes payment systems, blockchain applications, personal finance tools, investment platforms, financial literacy apps, crisis management solutions, and more. Get creative!
What prizes can I win?
We have over $5,000 in prizes from our amazing sponsors! Prizes include cash awards, software licenses, domain vouchers, and exclusive access to learning platforms. Details will be announced closer to the event.
Will there be mentors and workshops?
Yes! We'll have experienced mentors from the fintech industry available throughout the event to help with technical challenges, design questions, and more. We'll also host workshops on relevant topics.
What if I've never been to a hackathon before?
Perfect! Finnova Hacks is beginner-friendly. We'll have mentors to guide you, workshops to help you learn, and a supportive community. This is a great opportunity to learn new skills and meet like-minded people.
How will projects be judged?
Projects will be evaluated on innovation, technical complexity, design, feasibility, and how well they address real-world fintech challenges. Judges will be industry professionals and experienced developers.
Can I start working on my project before the event?
No, all projects must be started from scratch at the hackathon. However, you can brainstorm ideas and bring any open-source libraries or tools you plan to use.
Is there a code of conduct?
Yes! We're committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for everyone. All participants must follow our Code of Conduct, which will be shared with accepted applicants.
